Hey NWVRA players —
I know summer seems like it’s a long way away, but you will be bored at home, too hot, and missing the ice sooner than you think!
This August, the National Ringette School will offer week-long camps at two locations in BC. These are fantastic for skill-building and fun.
- Pitt Meadows (4 days, T-F): August 6 to 9 for age groups born 2010-2011, 2008-2009, and 2004-2007;
- Vernon (5 days, M-F): August 19 to 23 for age groups born 2009-2011, 2006-2008, and Top Gun (A/AA) 2002-2006
These camps offer great instructors, and 2-3 ice times each day combined with off-ice activities like dryland training, nutrition education, mental toughness training, shooting sessions, strategy development, and generally fun activities (and a free jersey!). Many NWVRA players have attended these camps in the past and will do so again this year.
Goalies already register for half of the cost for skaters at NRS camps, but this year NWVRA is offering a further half-price discount for players attending NRS as goalies and who are planning to play goal with NWVRA in 2019-2020. NWVRA will apply this will be applied against your 2019-2020 registration fees.* For the Pitt Meadows camp, that’s 4 full days of ringette training and fun for less than $80! Goalies participate in the same activities as skaters, so friends can stay together. NWVRA goalie gear can be loaned to up to 2 players each in U10, U12 and U14 (maybe U16) for the duration of the camp.
We encourage any and all interested players to register ASAP as the camps fill quickly and costs go up over time. One-time or three-time payment plans are available through NRS.
